FOREST ECONOMICS AND RESOURCE ANALYSIS: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Texas A&M Forest Service supports forest-based economic development in Texas by collecting data and conducting in-depth resource analyses. Staff work closely with state and local economic development professionals, forest products industries, prospective investors and landowners on various economic development initiatives.

Forest resource data and analyses conducted by TFS is hosted on TexasForestInfo.com. Here, you’ll find applications to help you view forest type distributions across the state, timber supply within an area of interest and the location of forest product manufacturing facilities.

Texas Forest Sector Economic Impact
The forest sector in Texas is vitally important to the Texas economy, providing a total annual economic impact of $30.3 billion and approximately 130,600 jobs in 2012. Current and historical economic data can be viewed online through the interactive Texas Forest Sector Economic Impact Summary Tool.

This tool allows you to view economic impact within a selected set of counties, view thematic maps displaying economic data, compare economic impact trends over time, download preprepared reports and export data.

AGGIEREPLANT 2017

The Bastrop Lost Pines Recovery AggieREPLANT will take place on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017. Over the past five years, 2,000 students have planted 43,000 loblolly pine seedlings over 50 acres of parkland.
